Coal India Limited (CIL) has extended a financial assistance of ₹15 crores to the West Bengal government-owned Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO), for three electric buses and an electric car on the World Environment Day. While CIL contributed to the capital cost of the buses, HIDCO will bear the maintenance and operational expenses of these electrically operated vehicles.
