The Narendra Modi government has terminated the services of R Mohan Das, Director, Personnel & Industrial Relations of state-owned Coal India Ltd with effect from March 30.
He was terminated two months ahead of his service tenure that was scheduled to end on May 31.
Mohan Das had courted a controversy regarding a career improvement (promotion) policy adopted by the company. The policy was subsequently struck down by the Calcutta High Court forcing reversal of promotion of over 150 officers including Coal India’s company secretary, M Viswanathan.
