Coca-Cola India on Tuesday said that it expects home-grown cola-brand Thums Up to become a billion dollar brand in the next two years.
The company also launched the first variant of Thums Up in its 40 years of existence called Thums Up Charged.
Thums Up, the brand that Coca-Cola India had acquired in 1993, is currently about Rs 5,000-crore brand in terms of retail sales.
Vijay Parasuraman, Vice-President, Marketing, Coca-Cola India & South West Asia, said that the company and its bottlers will invest suitably in enhancing the brand, launching new backs, expanding distribution and augmenting the manufacturing capacity to increase the sales of Thums Up by 2020.
He said: “The launch of Thums Up Charged will accelerate the journey of the brand to become the first home-grown billion dollar beverage brand.”
