Container Corporation of India has registered a four per cent growth in net profit in the first quarter this fiscal, despite a nine per cent growth in earnings. The April-June quarter earnings were Rs 1036.95 crore, against Rs 949.04 crore last year. The net profit was at Rs 245.13 crore, against Rs 234.15 crore last year. “The reduction in profitability is due to the impact of minimum alternate tax,” Concor Director Finance, Ms P. Allirani, told Business Line . On BSE, the stock closed at Rs 920.10, up 1.43 per cent.
