Daikin Airconditioning India, a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd of Japan, has commissioned its second factory at Neemrana in Rajasthan.
The plant, strategically located on NH-8 in a sprawling area of 160,000 square metres, entailed a total investment of more than ₹2,000 crore.
Products The facility has the capacity to manufacture 15 lakh room ACs, 50,000 VRV units, 1 lakh cassette units, 20,000 ductable units and 1,000 chillers – ozone-friendly HFC refrigerant will be used in Daikin’s residential and commercial ACs. K J Jawa, MD & CEO, Daikin Airconditioning India, in a statement said: “Daikin is the global leader in air-conditioning technology and is committed to offer superior quality air-conditioning solutions. The setting up of the second factory in India encapsulates this vision and commitment.”
“For Daikin, India is one of the fastest-growing markets globally, and this investment is in line with Daikin’s objective to gain stronger position in India, thereby further cementing our dominance,” he said.

This investment is a step towards becoming an unstoppable brand in India”
Toshio Nakano, Chairman, Daikin India, said: “We aim to reduce the supply lead time and become more competitive in meeting market needs in terms of product availability and specifications. This will strengthen our competitiveness and cement our leadership in the Indian AC market.”
Training centre The 40-acre facility is not only dedicated to the production of air conditioners, but also houses an Air-conditioning Training and Development Centre, designed to train sales and service personnel, and to conduct training sessions for dealer partners from across the country.
Daikin sees robust growth in India’s air-conditioning market, and it intends to further increase its market share of residential and large-scale projects.
