Energy advisory and certification body DNV GL has launched its first on-site solar lab, a mobile laboratory service for on-site testing of PV modules in India.
The service will help asset owners save time, reduce cost and minimise risk by enabling flash test/I-V curve measurement and electroluminescence (EL) testing of their PV modules on-site, that will otherwise be conducted in a stationary laboratory, a press release said.
The mobile laboratory can be transported to project sites anywhere in India.
Citing a survey, Nicolas Rinon, Executive Vice-President, DNV GL, said the primary energy consumption of solar PV in India is estimated to increase to 24 per cent by 2050 from almost “nil” in 2016. “The on-site solar lab will support the growth of this developing market,” he said.
