E.I.D-Parry has reported a net loss of Rs 48.09 crore on a total income of Rs 252.99 crore for the third quarter ended December 31.
During the corresponding period in the previous year, the company reported a net loss of Rs 37.20 crore on a total income of Rs 255.69 crore.
The company, which is among the largest players in the sugar segment with a total sugarcane crushing capacity of about 32,500 tonnes a day including through its subsidiary, has a presence across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
The sugar division reported a net loss of Rs 36.68 crore (Loss: 43.59 crore).
