Eveready Industries Ltd recorded sharp drop in net profit at Rs 3.87 crore in the fourth quarter to March 31, 2011, from Rs 97.6 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The net profit for the whole year plummeted to Rs 39.24 crore (Rs 142 crore). Sales for the full year at Rs 950 were down 2 per cent. According to the company, battery volume declined marginally — mainly in reaction to product price increases. However, flashlight sales slipped 6 per cent. —
