Exide Industries Ltd posted an almost flat growth in net profit to ₹155 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2018, as compared with ₹154 crore same period last year.

The net turnover of the company grew by nearly 10 per cent to ₹2,497 crore for the quarter under review as compared with corresponding quarter’s ₹2,278 crore. Total expenses also increased by nearly 10 per cent to ₹2,268 crore (₹2,059 crore).

According to G Chatterjee, MD & CEO, Exide, volumes in automotive, motorcycle, UPS and solar batteries have “grown quite well” in the third quarter.

The company is focusing on cost control and technology upgradation as strategies to improve the bottom-line, said a press statement issued by the company.
