As per the orders from the Delhi High Court, local commissioners appointed by the court recently conducted raids in Gulbarga city and seized pesticides infringing on DuPont’s trademark.

The raids were conducted subsequent to a case filed by DuPont in the Delhi High Court against violation of their intellectual property rights in their popular brand DuPontCoragen.

The raiding party unearthed substantial stocks of products that were being sold as Indian Korajen.

DuPont has intensified efforts to curb the menace of counterfeit pesticides and products that are deceptively similar to their products, thus misleading and duping farmers.

Recently, police in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Orissa filed FIRs against manufacturers / dealers selling fake Coragen.

Appreciating this prompt action, Ram K Mudholkar, South Asia Director of DuPont Crop Protection Business said, “This sends out a clear message that authorities will not tolerate counterfeits or fake pesticides, which not only damage the company’s brand reputation but also adversely impact the crop and eventually farmer’s income.”
