Freyr Energy has announced the completion of a 640 KW solar rooftop project in Manipur, which includes one of the largest off-grid 100 KW battery-powered systems in the country. The inverter installed at the project for Manipur’s Central Agricultural University, maximises solar power generation and helps stabilise power from the grid.
It also has the functionality to smartly optimise and export solar power when the cost of grid power is at its highest, and draws power when it is low. The system helps withstand power fluctuations and guarantees power round the clock, and can also be monitored remotely.
Saurabh Marda, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Freyr Energy, in a statement said, “Completion of these projects is a testimony to our capability to not only navigate difficult terrain, but also establishes our technical capabilities to bring power through innovative solutions to areas with challenging electrical infrastructure.”
Apart from Manipur University, the cumulative 600 KW also includes four 100 KW systems each in the City Convention Centre, Interstate Bus Terminus and the National Sports Academy Hostel in Imphal. The project supports the Khwairamband Bazaar through a 50 KW system, which is the world’s only all-women marketplace and one of Imphal’s main tourist attractions. The systems have been installed at various government buildings post-winning the tender by Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency.
The Hyderabad-based company has installed over 900 solar systems across 16 states in the last three years. FreyrSunPro, which is the company’s proprietary software, allows the sales team and channel partners to instantly design and price solar systems based on the end-customer’s needs. In addition to this, Freyr Energy also helps its customers secure loans from banks and PPAs.
