Hyatt Hotels Corporation plans to launch all the rebranded Ista Hotels in April, after last year’s management agreement with the owners IHHR Hospitality.
The hotels are being rebranded as Hyatt.
Eri Brun, Vice-President - Brands, Europe Africa Middle East & Southwest Asia, Hyatt Corporation, said this will also mark the Hyatt brand’s debut in India.
“Not many hotel chains get the luxury to launch five hotels in the same month. This also gives us access to three new markets – Bangalore, Amritsar and Ahmedabad.”
With the launch, five of the seven brands operated by the hotel group will be present in the country. It currently operates Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Place in the country.
The hotel company has been working from October to launch these hotels and has managed to rebrand them in a short-time.
The other places where the rebranded hotels will open include Pune and Hyderabad. Hyatt branded hotels are smaller properties, typically ranging from 150-300 rooms and positioned in the mid-market segment.
Andaaz brand
Next on the cards will be the launch of its Andaaz brand as well as Hyatt House, which is its long-stay brand, in 2015.
Talking about Andaaz, which has been launched fairly recently compared to its other brands, Brun said, “Customers told us there was a gap in our portfolio and wanted to have a hotel brand positioned in the lifestyle segment. The brand attempts to remove several de-personalised elements of the hotel.”
