Car-maker General Motors (GM) India on Monday said it will not foray into the cargo light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment for now and instead will focus on passenger multi-purpose vehicle.
“We will launch Enjoy MPV that can be used for commercial applications and can be categorised as LCV category. But there are no plans for pure cargo LCV as of now,” GM India Vice President, Corporate Affairs, P Balendran said today.
GM President and Managing Director Lowell C Paddock said the company is bullish on passenger vehicles with some commercial applications and is open to opportunities in the space.
“In India, Chevrolet Tavera is also used for commercial activities,” he said on the sidelines of Chevrolet Sail-U-VA launch here.
GM, which sold close to 78,000 vehicles till October, is eyeing the one lakh units mark this year with three new launches.
