GeneSys Biologics has set up a modern biotechnology manufacturing facility in Genome Valley here. GeneSys Biotechnology Center offers integrated drug development for insulin/ insulin analogues biosimilars, right from research and development to commercial manufacturing.
The manufacturing facility will propel the growth stage through the global clinical programme of GeneSys’ multiple products, while also catering to the country’s future commercial requirements and a few emerging markets.
GeneSys currently employs approximately 140 people, with plans for additional hiring. Biosimilars are expected to be the next big growth segment within the biopharma industry. “Current global sales of GeneSys pipeline molecules are over $30 billion,'' the company said in a release.
