German brand Hacker Kuchen GmbH. KG known for its customised modular kitchens, on Friday announced the launch of their sixth store in the country and plans to add one more at Chennai by October.

At Furn-Plus a store in the upmarket Jubilee Hills, German furniture maker Hulsta, too, announced the introduction of its wide range of furniture with the opening of their third store after Delhi and Mumbai.

Capt Mukesh Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Kanu Kitchen Kulture Ltd, the associate for the German brands in India, said Hacker offers only customised modular kitchens, which suit specific requirement.

Catering to different segments of buyers, middle-class and high-end, these kitchens take about 10 weeks for delivery after placing the order.

Depending upon the requirements and a kitchen of say about 8 feet by 10 feet, it could cost anywhere between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 6-7 lakh. This could also go up to Rs 45 lakh to 60 lakh depending upon the type of fitments the individual prefers.

There is no one fit for all. It is only customised, he explained.

The €900 million Hulsta provides a wide range of furniture.

With growing number of people travelling and getting exposed to international markets, they now prefer to have something similar at their home.

With increasing income and aspiration levels, they want such products, he said.
