Godrej Appliances, which has launched its next generation of refrigerators, will be focusing on premium products along with new launches across product categories in the next couple of months.

Kamal Nandi, Business Head & EVP-Godrej Appliances, said: “We have always been a mass brand in the country. Now we are focusing on the premium category as we believe there is a huge opportunity there. It’s critical for a brand to fulfil consumers’ aspirations.”

The company launched its Godrej Edge Digi range of refrigerators, a hybrid product that offers both direct cool and frost-free mode in the price range of ₹19,350-21,350. Next on the cards are premium product launches in washing machines, microwave ovens and air-conditioners.

Godrej Appliances expects to grow its revenues by 30 per cent this year to ₹2,700 crore from ₹2,100 crore last year. “We have made significant production capacity enhancement in the last few years. This year, we will be looking to consolidate our capacities,” he added. Nandi said while the last two years had been challenging for consumer durable makers, cooling products had fared well this summer, with huge consumption levels across the country.
