The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Monday launched next generation Achiever 150, priced at ₹62,800 for the disc brake option and ₹61,800 for the drum option (all ex-showroom, Delhi).

With the launch of this new version, the company is aiming to lead in the premium segment too, just like as it has in both and 100cc and 125cc segment.

Powered by a BS-IV compliant 150cc torque-on-demand engine, the New Achiever 150 motorcycle is a perfect amalgamation of power and performance, the company said. The bike comes with new BS IV compliant engine with Hero’s patented i3S technology.

“The launch of the new next generation Achiever 150 is a reiteration of our strong focus on developing new, technologically superior and youthful products across segments for our customers in India and across the globe,” said Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Premium segment

He said this is just the beginning of a wide effort in the premium segment and there are lot more products to come. Right now, the company gets ‘low single digit’ contribution from the premium range segment in the overall motorcycle sales. But, now it is expecting double digit growth in this segment with the new launches also coming up.

The company has achieved 70 million cumulative production mark.

According to Munjal, this has been ‘possible due to our sustained leadership performance’.

On the company planning to phase out its scooter model Maestro, for which is still pays royalty to erstwhile partner Honda, Ashok Bhasin, Head, Sales Marketing and Customer Care, Hero MotoCorp, said, “Maestro Edge has been received well and we plan to phase out Maestro (replacing it) with Maestro Edge in the coming quarters.”
