Textile design and manufacturing company Himatsingka Seide’s ₹1,325-crore expansion plan is among the five projects cleared by the 38th State high-level clearance committee (SHLCC). The company is expanding its production capacity at Hassan.

The SHLCC, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, also cleared four other projects, which are expected to create 3,532 jobs in five districts.

Other proposals Other proposals cleared are Stelis Bio Pharma’s ₹248-crore investments in Doddaballapur, Harsha Sugars Ltd’s ₹213-crore plant in Belgavi, Auric Industries’ ₹156.25 crore investments in solar and biomass unit at Raichur and Cheers Breweries ₹107.50 crore unit at Nanjangud.

After the SHLCC meeting, K Ratna Prabha, Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, told reporters that investments have come for sectors such as chemical, energy, sugar, textiles and others. District-wise one project each at Bengaluru Rural, Belagavi, Hassan, Mysuru and Raichur.

During 2014-15, the State government had cleared 108 projects with an investment of ₹54,433.01 crore, generating an employment to 56,101 people. In 2013-14, the government approved 255 projects with an investment of ₹42,176.54 crore, generating 1.71 lakh jobs.

Women entrepreneurs The Chief Minister has approved the proposal to send a women’s delegation to the WEConnect’s International Conference and Business Fair in Austin, Texas in the US, from June 23 to 25. The delegation will be led by Ratna Prabha.

It will have 22 members, including 19 women entrepreneurs from the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), Bangalore, eMERG, Bangalore and Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Hubbali.
