In its efforts to provide hassle-free tilling and weeding operations for the farming community in the State, Honda Siel Power Products Ltd has launched its latest product Honda Rotary Tiller for Kerala market.
Addressing the dealers, Mr Gagan Pal, General Manager (Sales & Marketing), elaborated the need of farmers for better solution for their tilling and weeding operations, shortage of labour and the government support for farm mechanisation creating a conducive atmosphere for launch of Honda tiller.
Honda Power Tiller FE 500 E1 is equipped with a 5.5-hp Honda GX 160 engine, adjustable handles, adjustable tines for weeding width of 18” to 36” and tilling depth of 5”. Since the weight of the product is only 54 kg, it can be easily transported from one field to the other. With use of multiple attachments, it can also be used for tilling, puddling, ridging, furrowing apart from de-weeding with the standard attachment.
Priced at Rs 68,500, the product will be a boon for farmers and is very useful in Kerala for crops like vegetables, floriculture, coconut, ginger, tapioca etc. The company also expect this to benefit the co-operative movement / nurseries / agricultural universities / Kudumbasree missions in the State.
The product is supported by Honda's strength of 45 dealers all across Kerala who are equipped with adequate spare parts and trained manpower. The entire dealers of Kerala were also witness to a field demonstration and had hands on experience of the product. They were of the opinion that the product will also be an added advantage like the brush cutters which has been widely accepted in Kerala.
