Two-wheeler maker Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday reported a marginal growth in its domestic sales in June to 4,16,498 units as compared with 4,07,979 units in June 2016.
While scooter sales clocked 2,71,017 units during the month (compared to 2,65,361 units in June 2016), motorcycle sales grew from 1,42,618 units in June last year to 1,45,481 units last month.
Exports for the company grew to 28,215 units in June this year from 19,243 units in the same period a year ago.
Meanwhile, the company said its business partners, including vendors and sales network, had migrated all systems to the GST regime and were offering savings to customers.
“Starting July 1, Honda is passing on the GST benefit applicable in most of the states to our valued customers who now get significant savings going up to ₹5,500 depending on the model and the state of purchase,” Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice-President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
