If they win the final match of the ICC World Cup on Saturday, each member of the Indian cricket team will be awarded the new Hyundai Verna sedan.
The Korean automaker, an associate sponsor of the ICC World Cup, made this promise on Friday. The new Verna is yet to be launched for commercial sale in the country.
Mr H. W. Park, MD & CEO, HMIL said, “As the official car partner for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, we will be extremely delighted to felicitate the Indian cricket team with the all-new, Verna much ahead of its market launch in the country.”
Among other World Cup-related campaigns, Hyundai has set up fan parks in prominent malls in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. These pavilions have giant screens projecting all the matches of the World Cup, a cricket pitch for fans to display their cricketing talent, a fun zone where special tattoos and caricatures are done, cheerleaders and games with cricket memorabilia as prizes.
