Two-wheeler maker, India Yamaha Motor, has reported a six per cent increase in total sales at 36,581 units for April 2012.
The company had sold 34,476 units in April last year, India Yamaha Motor said in a statement today.
In the domestic market, the company’s sales stood at 26,944 units (25,817 units). Exports stood at 9,637 units (8,659 units), the statement added.
“We had entered the financial year on a high note and hope to sustain it throughout the year. Our models — YZF-R15 Version 2.0, FZ series and SZ series are doing very well in their respective segments and are playing an instrumental role in driving the sales for our company,” India Yamaha Motor CEO and MD, Mr Hiroyuki Suzuki, said.
The company recently introduced new variants of the FZ series to add freshness to the product and kept in line with its promise to give new to its customers, he added.
