Insecticides India Ltd (IIL) has tied up with American Vanguard Corporation (AMVAC) to launch the latter’s generic insecticide brand Nuvan in India. IIL will manufacture and market Nuvan in India.

The company also introduced Hakama, a herbicide belonging to Nissan Chemicals Industries, Japan. Hakama is used in major crops like soyabean, groundnut, cotton and jute to control narrow weeds.

“The tie up with AMVAC and Nissan will provide a leading edge to capture the target market in India,’’ said Mr Rajesh Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides India.

Further, Mr Aggarwal said the agrochemical market in India is poised to touch $5 billion by 2017 from the present $2 billlion as farmers increasingly rely on crop protection technologies.

The company also plans to expand its manufacturing facilities in Dahej and Rajasthan.
