Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) on Monday launched a new retail brand — Jindal Panther.

The first product to be launched under the new brand is TMT rebars. This signifies the company’s foray into the retail product segment.

Till now, it was catering to bulk customers through distributors and did not have a retail presence.

Demand for TMT bars in the country is nearly 23 million tonnes. The company would market its retail products through 40 distributors, and 1,000 dealers spread across 671 districts in the country.

The TMT rebars are being produced at the company’s mill at Patratu in Jharkhand, which has a production capacity of one million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
