JK Lakshmi Cement has posted a net profit of ₹24.99 crore in the second quarter (July-September) of the financial year 2016-17. It had posted a loss of ₹8.97 crore in the corresponding period in 2015-16, the company said in a statement. Despite the quarter witnessing an adverse impact on its production and sales due to intense monsoon in the company’s market areas, its turnover was up at ₹733.10 crore against ₹723.30 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, it said. On Wednesday, the company’s scrip closed 2.35 per cent lower at ₹489.90 on the BSE.
