Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL) on Tuesday said it has formed a joint venture with Golden Harvest QSR Ltd to launch Domino’s Pizza in Bangladesh.

Jubilant FoodWorks, which is a master franchise holder for Domino’s Pizza brand in India, also has exclusive rights to develop and operate the Domino’s Pizza restaurants in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. At present it operates the brand in India and through its subsidiary in Sri Lanka.

“Post investment, Jubilant FoodWorks will be the major shareholder in the joint venture entity — Jubilant Golden Harvest Ltd — with 51 per cent of the total shareholding, while Golden Harvest QSR Ltd, a part of the Golden Harvest Group, will own 49 per cent,” the company said in a statement.

Shyam S Bhartia, Chairman, Jubilant FoodWorks, said it was a significant step in the company’s journey for international expansion. “As one of the fastest growing economies, we believe that Bangladesh offers huge potential for Domino’s. In Golden Harvest, we have found a trusted and capable partner with a diversified set of businesses,” said Hari S Bhartia, Co-Chairman, Jubilant FoodWorks.

Golden Harvest QSR Ltd is a part of Golden Harvest Group of Bangladesh which is a diversified conglomerate and has interests in various sectors such as food, commodities, IT, logistics, real estate, dairy and insurance.

JFL also has exclusive rights for developing and operating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in India. The company currently operates a network of 1,128 Domino’s Pizza restaurants and 43 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in India.
