Malay Chatterjee, CMD, KIOCL Ltd (formerly Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd), has given a presentation on ‘Make in India’ programme at the 21st International Iron Ore Symposium held at Vienna, Austria by Metal Bulletin, London.
Chatterjee also spoke on major issues affecting Indian pellet market, iron ore imports driven by domestic capacity and economic viability.
He also advocated the concept and invited global players to utilise the company's (KIOCL) port-based pellet facility as well as blast furnace unit located at Mangaluru.
Later he had one-to-one meetings to explain the 'Make in India' programme. The symposium was attended by major players in iron ore mining viz. Rio Tinto, Anglo American, Vale International etc.
