Lakmé, L’Oréal, Nivea, Gillette and Maybelline are among the most preferred cosmetics and personal care brands, according to a survey by Cashkaro, a cashback and coupons provider.
This survey conducted across 1,000 partner websites pointed out that that 77 per cent of women respondents spend an average of Rs 1,000-Rs 5,000 and 58 per cent spend over Rs 5,000 on a monthly basis on beauty products and salon sessions.
Sixty-two per cent of the men spend an average of Rs 1,000 and 42 per cent like to spend over Rs 5,000 on a monthly basis on their grooming products and salon sessions.
While sunscreen, kajal and lip balm top the list in women’s must-haves, men buy aftershave and hair gel, the study added.
Swati Bhargava, Co-Founder, CashKaro.com said: “CashKaro survey shows the changing preferences of the Indian consumer, where women and men both are spending substantial time and money to look good and presentable."
The respondents were from tier-I, II and III cities with 60 per cent female participation. The respondents were primarily in the age group of 18-30 years.
