Leap Greens Energy (LGE), an independent power producing company, has appointed Barclays Bank as financial advisors to raise close to $250 million.
The company is targeting to set up an installed capacity of more than 3 GW by FY2020 and the proceeds will be used to meet these plans, the company said in a statement.
The capacity addition will be pursued across both green field and brownfield opportunities within the renewable energy space. Apart from opportunities in power generation, Leap Green Energy will also pursue opportunities in energy storage, repowering, offshore wind energy harnessing among others, it added.
At present, LGE has 751 MW of operational wind assets and another 400 MW under construction.
