L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited (LTHE) has received a large order from $430-million petroleum coke plant coming up in Oman.
The project, developed by Salmeen Industrial Projects LLC (SIP), is funded by BSW Group Holdings.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract awarded to L&T’s hydrocarbon business is valued between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore. The scope of work includes selection of technology licensor, front-end engineering design ( FEED ) and EPC works for two calcining plants that would annually produce 450,000 tonnes of calcined petroleum coke — a core carbon component in the production of aluminium.
This award will further reinforce L&T’s operations in Oman and provide an opportunity to contribute to the expansion of industrial facilities in Sohar, L&T noted in a statement.
