Marriott International Inc and AXN unveiled a collaborative effort at curating a culinary show ‘AXN Ultimate Cook-Off-The Marriot Challenge’, which will premiere on AXN on October 12. The cook-off showcases a face-off between four celebrated chefs from various brands within Marriott, with the winning dish set to make it to the menu of more than 100 Marriott International hotels across India.

“This association gives us yet another platform to showcase our cooking styles, abilities, and innovations in the food and beverages domain. Ninety-five per cent of the guests who write to me share their experiences concerning the food and beverages. The chef always manages to touch a chord and a large percentage of our guests will always remember who the chef was,” said Neeraj Govil, Area Vice-President-South Asia for Marriott International, about the reasons underpinning the move.

The four chefs in the cook-off are Vishal Atreya, Mayur Tiwari, Tanveer Kwatra and Roberto Zorzoli, who display their culinary skills through various challenges. Chef Toine Hoeksel, Senior Culinary Director, Asia-Pacific, Marriott International Inc., had visited India to judge the cook-off. Chef Himanshu Taneja, Culinary Director, India for Marriott International, and Chitrangda Singh, actor and producer, were the other judges.

“This is our third initiative associated with the food and beverages sector. We had done Taste Nirvana and ‘Aaj khane me kya hai’ before. We will be bringing in celebrity chefs to amplify our reputation soon. We will bring in some big chefs into the country and do a couple of chef curated events at our restaurant. We will be announcing that soon,” Govil said.
