The country's largest passenger carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Saturday said it sold 99,758 units in the domestic market in February, up 1.80 per cent as compared with 97,955 units in the same month last year.
However, export sales came down by 19.50 per cent during the month to 9,346 units as against 11,612 units in February 2013, the company said in a statement.
In the domestic market, the company got the maximum numbers from vans (Omni and Eeco) and compact cars such as Swift, Estilo, Ritz and Celerio.
While sales of compact cars were up 19.40 per cent during the month at 28,672 units as against 24,021 units in the same month last year, van sales grew 22.10 per cent to 9,932 units in February (against 8,133 units).
Sales of compact sedan Dzire were marginally up at 18,353 units last month as compared with 18,316 units in February 2013.
