Multi Commodity Exchange reported that its net profit increased five per cent to Rs 65 crore (Rs 62 crore) in the June quarter.

Total income was up six per cent at Rs 146 crore (Rs 138 crore).

EBITDA for the quarter was six per cent at Rs 99 crore.

The average daily turnover in the commodity exchange was up eight per cent at Rs 47,888 crore (Rs 44,188 crore) in the quarter under review.

The value of the turnover traded on the Multi Commodity Exchange represented 87 per cent of the commodity futures industry during the June quarter against 86 per cent in same quarter last year.

The company’s shares on the Bombay Stock Exchange were down 0.41 per cent at Rs 1,070 on Thursday.
