AVA Group, the makers of Medimix handmade soap, is looking at a sales turnover of ₹ 500 crore in South India by FY20 as compared to ₹300 crore registered in the current fiscal.

Medimix soap has turned 50 this year and it has lined up new products such as Medimix hair oil, shampoo and body wash. These products are expected to hit the market in the next two years, said A V Anoop, Managing Director.

In FY19, the group had crossed 10,000 tonne production mark. It has six plants across South India and each plant accounts for approximately 100,000 soaps every day, he said.

The art of making soap by hand is dying now. But the company through a series of innovation, cost effective measures and a strong workforce have been able to grow into world's largest selling handmade soap, he said.

Besides Medimix, the group also owns brands such as Melam and Kaytra in the FMCG segment. In this year, the company will conduct series of activities for the development of communities near the factories, he added.
