Mumbai-based diagnostic chain Metropolis Healthcare will acquire two diagnostic companies and add 10 more labs in the coming months.
Ameera Shah, Managing Director, told BusinessLine that the expansion is a part of ₹300-crore capital expenditure the company announced two years ago.
Acquisitions abroadFor international acquisition, the company is in talks with players in South East Asia.
Shah said, “The company is in for aggressive growth next year in terms of infrastructure and leadership.” The company will begin operations in Uganda within two months.
The diagnostic chain has total of 150 labs and 1,800 collection centres in India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Ghana, Zambia and Mauritius. Shah said the latest expansion plans will take the collection centres to 2,100 and the acquisition in pipeline will give them wider bandwidth in terms of access and also consumer base.
Since 2003, the company has acquired 25 diagnostic labs. The company, which is growing at the CAGR of 18-20 per cent, will look at both organic and inorganic expansion, she added.
