Milma was ranked No 1 among the 20 most popular brands in Kerala, according to the 5th annual brand survey conducted by Dhanam Business Magazine and Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies. Eastern and V-Guard won the second and third positions in the survey.

Krishna Thulasi Cough Syrup (4), Kitex (5), VKC (6), Popy Umbrella (7), Pankaja Kasthuri (8), Scoobee Day (9), Anna (10), Saras (11), Chandanam Soap (12), Lazza (13), Johns Umbrella (14), Kairali TMT (15), Chakson (16), Dhathri Hair Oil (17), Nirapara Rice (18), Rubco (19), Thomson PVC Pipes (20).

“We considered only the popularity of the brands as criteria for selection,” Mr Kurian Abraham Editor and Managing Director of Dhanam Publications said. Factors such as performance, turnover and market share were not considered for the selection process, he added.

In our survey to find the Top 20 Brands, we used a set of five parameters to measure the popularity of the brand, Prof N. Joji Alex, Survey Team Coordinator and Assistant Professor at Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies said.

The survey was done with a sample of 3,245 individuals selected across the State. The participants in this survey responded to a questionnaire related to brand quality, value for money, brand status and brand popularity. Brands such as media, jewellery, institutions and those who have no base and production centre in Kerala were not included in the survey.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Milma has been ranked the No. 1 among the list of Top 20 brands. This year's Top 20 Survey results have some unprecedented features.

While some have maintained their popularity, some declined in their popularity and some have not been even able to find a place in the list. Some other brands went far ahead of their competitors.
