Mumbai-based Mirah Hospitality will be opening the first Indian franchisee outlet of Ping Pong, a London-based restaurant chain, in Mumbai.
The Ping Pong Group was established in 2005 and currently operates 13 restaurants across the globe in London, Sao Paulo, Dubai and Washington DC. This marks their entry in the Asian market.
The first outlet will come up at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai and will be ready within the next six months. “We plan to open another 16 outlets across different metros in India in the next three to four years with an estimated investment of Rs 70 crore,” said Gaurav Goenka, Managing Director, Mirah Hospitality.
The Asian market was the next step in Ping Pong’s growth, after an initial expansion in the US, Europe and West Asia, said Ping Pong managing partner, Daniel During.
The menu, primarily, will consist of classic dim sums, cocktails and 30 varieties of teas. Diners will be able choose from over 50 dim sum dishes, which includes a series of set menus with baked, steamed and fried items and a dessert.
The menu also features a large collection of Chinese teas, ranging from China’s famous green tea to tea flavours such as jasmine, lily and a spicy pineapple tea.
