Nava Bharat Ventures Limited has posted a lower net profit of Rs 47.17 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013 as against Rs 62.48 crore it logged for the corresponding quarter on a standalone basis.
The company’s income from operations was also lower at Rs 247.51 crore for the second quarter as against Rs 294.20 crore for the same period last year.
Last financial year ended March 31, 2013, the company had closed with a net profit of Rs 238.31 crore and total income of Rs 1124.19 crore.
The company operates in three broad segments of production of ferro alloys, sugar and power generation.
Nava Bharat shares closed the day at Rs 165.90, up 4.87 per cent at BSE.
