Hyderabad-based kidney care specialist NephroPlus has entered Tamil Nadu. The company has set up a dialysis unit at Bharathi Raja Hospital, Chennai. It is planning five more centres in the city and 20 across the State in the next 12 months at an investment of Rs 1-1.5 crore a centre. They will be a mix of standalone centres and those housed within hospitals, said Sandeep Gudibanda, Co-founder and Director, NephroPlus, which is funded by Bessemer Venture Partners. The dialysis unit in Chennai, NephroPlus’ 15{+t}{+h} centre in the country, has 12 beds, offering various therapies such as nocturnal dialysis (done at night) and short daily dialysis. NephroPlus centres are present in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Agra, Delhi and Punjab.
