State-run NHPC Ltd today said it has raised Rs 1,475 crore by issuing long-term bonds through private placement.
“Issue of NHPC ‘T’ Series Bond amounting to Rs 1,475 crore through private placement at a coupon rate of 8.50 per cent opened on July 14, 2015 and has been fully subscribed,” NHPC Ltd said in a filing to the BSE.
These bonds have a maturity period of 15 years with a 3 years moratorium and redeemable in 12 equal instalments starting from the end of fourth year, it added.
NHPC had reported a net profit of Rs 644.51 crore for the January-March quarter mainly on account of higher power generation as compared to net loss of Rs 707.4 crore in the year-ago period.
For the year ended March, 2015, the company posted a standalone net profit of Rs 2,124.47 crore whereas the same stood at Rs 978.79 crore in the year-ago period.
NHPC shares today closed 0.52 per cent down at Rs 18.95 apiece on the BSE.
