Diversified business firm Nirma has reported a standalone net loss of Rs 23.74 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
The company had posted a standalone net profit of Rs 25.99 crore during the quarter ended March 31, 2010, Nirma said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
During the quarter, the firm’s standalone net sales stood at Rs 840.91 crore, a 9 per cent increase from Rs 773.09 crore in the year-ago period.
For the full year 2010-11, on a standalone basis, Nirma posted a net profit of Rs 74.04 crore, a 69 per cent decline from Rs 237.94 crore in the previous fiscal.
During the fiscal, the company saw standalone net sales of Rs 3,245.65 crore, an increase of 4 per cent from Rs 3,117.95 crore in the year-ago period.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, Nirma’s consolidated net profit declined by 61.9 per cent to Rs 94.92 crore from Rs 249.33 crore in the previous fiscal.
During the period, the company witnessed net sales of Rs 4,751.31 crore, a 2.83 per cent increase from Rs 4,620.38 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
