Phillips Carbon Black Ltd (PCBL), an RP Sanjiv Goenka Group outfit, is likely to commission its upcoming Chennai plant by 2015.
With a proposed capacity of 1.4 lakh tonnes, the new carbon black unit will entail an investment of Rs 350 crore, Mr Jatin Kapoor, Chief Financial Officer of PCBL, said after the company’s 51st annual general meeting here on Friday.
“We aim to commission the proposed Chennai plant by fiscal 2014-15. Land for the new unit has already been allotted and we signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu Government in May,” Mr Kapoor added. The proposed Chennai plant will have a 25 MW power plant.
