Piramal Glass consolidated net profit rose 75.71 per cent to Rs 29.01 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2011, over the same period previous fiscal.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 16.51 crore in the same period last financial year, Piramal Glass said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Net sales rose to Rs 317.22 crore during the quarter under review compared with Rs 278.32 crore in the year-ago period.
On a standalone basis, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 19.23 crore for the June quarter this fiscal against Rs 9.09 crore in the corresponding period previous fiscal.
Meanwhile, the scrip was trading at Rs 138.60 on the BSE in the afternoon trade today, up 0.54 per cent from its previous close.
