Pradeep Shrivastava has been designated as executive director of Bajaj Auto Ltd for a period of five years with effect from April 1, 2016. The decision on his elevation as whole-time director was taken at a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors today.
Shrivastava, 56, who joined the Pune-based motorcycle major in 1986, is currently the chief operating officer. A BTech from IIT Delhi and a PGDM from IIM Bengaluru, he has variously headed the manufacturing, engineering and purchasing functions at Bajaj Auto over his 30-year career with the company.
In addition to his current responsibilities, Shrivastava will oversee all countrywide operational matters on behalf of managing director Rajiv Bajaj and continue to report to him, Bajaj Auto said in a filing to the BSE.
