The 2016 Rio Olympics silver medal shuttler PV Sindhu will be the brand ambassador for Gatorade, PepsiCo’s sports based drink. The partnership is a reiteration of PepsiCo India’s commitment to popularise the benefits of its healthier food and beverage offerings to consumers.
Stating this, the company said Gatorade India will unveil the all new `SweatMore’ campaign featuring Sindhu in a digital film that will capture the brand’s close partnership with the sports icon.
Plans are that Gatorade Sports Science Insitute and Sindhu will work closely to better understand her training and match-day nutrition. Gatorade’s formula claims the right amount of carbohydrates, electrolytes and flavour that will help athletes rehydrate, replenish and refuel while playing.
Vipul Prakash, Vice-President, Beverages Category, PepsiCo India said “Gatorade is a scientifically formulate sports drink that provides right hydration and fuelling during a strenuous game or training session. Sindhu personifies the spirit of the brand through her determination and winning attitude”.
The campaign SweatMore is also aimed to support the badminton star’s journey from silver to gold.
On the partnership, Sindhu is quoted as, "There is no substitute for hard work. However, hard work comes with long hours of practice, persistence and perspiration. Each day throws a new challenge and you must be fit to take it head on. Gatorade helps athletes do just that”.
