B Sandhya Raju, daughter-in-law of Satyam Computer Services founder B Ramalinga Raju, has turned entrepreneur with CallHealth, a healthcare services start-up promoted solely by her.
Sandhya has invested ₹60 crore in the company, slated for launch in September. As per Registrar of Companies records, it was incorporated in 2013.
Its management is led by those who played a key role in the erstwhile Satyam and Emergency Response Services (108), which was originally the brainchild of Ramalinga Raju.
CallHealth seeks to use technology platforms to cater to urban healthcare needs. “Based on an integrated virtual and mobility platform, we will provide a range of services at home, including doctor consultation, diagnostic tests, delivery of medicines, nursing and physiotherapy round the clock,” CallHealth’s newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer Hari Thalapalli told newspersons here on Wednesday.
Hari was earlier Chief Marketing Officer and Global Head at Tech Mahindra. Though he worked with Ramalinga Raju and the founding team very closely, Hari stayed on while several others quit after the Satyam accounting scam.
According Nukala Sudhakar, COO of CallHealth, it will initially focus on Hyderabad before scaling up operations. “Our potential market is 400 million people in metro cities and other urban areas in the next three years. We have tied up with 75 hospitals and diagnostic labs so far,” he said.
There are 900 employees on its rolls as of now.
