The Ramco Cements Ltd said on Tuesday that it disposed of non-core assets for a total value of ₹455.03 crore during the financial year 2024-25.
The company initially set a target of ₹1,000 crore for the disposal of non-core assets. As of December 31, 2024, the company had successfully disposed of assets worth .₹443.65 crore. This includes the sale of shares held in other companies amounting to .₹376 crore and the disposal of lands owned by the company for ₹.67.65 crore, the company said in a filing to stock exchanges.
In the quarter ending March 31, 2025, the company disposed of additional land valued at ₹11.38 crores, bringing the total value of non-core assets disposed of during FY2024 -25 to ₹455.03 crore.
The Chennai-headquartered cement producer has also carried out a de-bottlenecking of its cement grinding capacity at the Kalavatala Plant, located in Kolimigundla Mandal, Nandyal District, Andhra Pradesh. Through optimisation of its cement mill, the plant’s capacity has been increased from 2 million tons per annum (MTPA) to 2.4 MTPA.
The company has also received the necessary consent to operate from the relevant authorities for this capacity enhancement. As a result, the total cement grinding capacity of the company has been boosted by 0.4 MTPA, raising the overall capacity from 24.04 MTPA to 24.44 MTPA.
