Pune-based RSB Transmissions has begun construction of a propeller shaft manufacturing facility at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh.
The plant will be built in the Domestic Tariff Zone (DTZ) at an investment of around ₹180 crore and is likely to be commissioned by January 2020. The project will generate employment for about 200 people. It will manufacture propeller shafts for use in automobile industry.
RK Behera, Chairman, RSB Group, laid the foundation stone on Thursday.
Behera said world class infrastructure, excellent logistics, coupled with locational advantage made them to prefer Sri City.
He said RSB is the market leader in supplying propeller shafts to leading OEMs and the Sri City plant will further boost the company’s market share.
The RSB Group has 13 manufacturing facilities spread over nine locations in India and one in the US. The company caters to the requirements of Sri City based OEMs such as Isuzu Motors and Kobelco, and others in the region including Ashok Leyland and Caterpillar.
RSB has business interests ranging from design to manufacturing of aggregates and systems related to commercial vehicles, passenger cars, construction and farm equipments.
