Sagar Cement Ltd’s net profit declined 41% at Rs 1.78 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2016 compared with Rs 3.03 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The revenue of the Hyderabad-based company, however, increased 8.5 per cent at Rs 141.55 crore from Rs 130 crore in the previous year.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) stood at Rs 15.69 crore as against Rs 13.86 crore last year.
Commenting on the results, Sreekanth Reddy, Executive Director, Sagar Cements said: ``We have reported a steady set of numbers for the quarter as highlighted by revenue and profitability growth.’’
Presence of Sagar in areas marginally impacted by the demonetisation scheme helped it in maintaining its realisations and volume growth.
`EBITDA, though remained a little under pressure during the quarter owning to rising input costs, operational efficiencies are expected improve growth going forward following BMM’s acquisitions and commissioning of railway siding operations,’’ he added.
