Samsung India expects to increase its market share by another 5 per cent in top-load fully automatic washing machines this year. It has 33 per cent market share in this segment, which is the fastest growing category.

In 2018, about 65 lakh washing machines are likely to be sold with about 10 per cent annual growth. “Samsung, however, will grow more than the industry,” said Maneesh Sharma, Deputy General Manager, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India.

The South Korean major is betting on its latest ‘All-In-One’ washing machine to boost sales. Its top-load washing machine with ActivWash+ concept is powered by an energy efficient digital inverter motor, which consumes 40 per cent less energy while producing minimal noise and vibration, when it is running.

The new washing machine also provides good durability by using the Direct Drive Technology, with no Belt and Pulley Mechanism. The inverter series also comes with Stainless Steel Pulsator, which offers complete hygiene and is corrosion resistant, he told newspersons.

There will be 10 models in this new inverter series with capacity range of 6.5 kg, 7 kg, 7.5 kg and 16 kg. The washing machine comes with an overall warranty of three years and price range between ₹24,990 and ₹49,000, he said.
